Re: Pentax K-5 ii and K-5 user considering switching to 5d MK III

I have used Pentax K-5 and K20 in the past and I really liked the form factor of K-5. I used to own all the three limited lenses (31, 43 and 77) and really loved them. Compared to Pentax, Canon bodies are more snappier (especially in AF). I heard that K-5 II has much better AF. However there is no comparison for AF in 5D Mark III (also cost more than twice K-5II).

If you are willing to do manual focus, you can still use your Pentax limited lenses in Canon (using adapters). The limited lenses are really good, but not sure they are still worth the premium (especially 77mm -  screw driven, no IS). When I started using Canon 85mm F1.8, I do not feel that I really miss the Pentax 77mm limited (though it is 77mm ltd slightly better).

I truly wish Canon release a full frame DSLR with the same form factor and features (weather seal, 100% penta prism view finder) of K-5 and K-5II...
