I just left a rather scathing, but polite, response to somebody that claimed because I believe that an image captured purely via technical skill is superior to one that has to be extensively reworked via Photoshop.

Who had gone so far as to say that it's effectively impossible to capture such an image despite the folks over the years that have reliably done just that.

And that one shouldn't regard photos that have been photo-manipulated to the point of no longer resembling the source material at all and being impossible shouldn't be regarded as photographs any more.

So, that makes me wonder, am I just too old school for the modern age, or do other people actually value the skill and the satisfaction that comes from an image that requires basically no manipulation after the fact beyond a bit of controlled developing?

What business do you have convincing each other that YOUR philosophy is the right one?

Just do what you think is right and makes you happy and let the other guy have his opinion.
