Upgraded firmware but still no PDAF with E50, why?

Upgraded firmware but still no PDAF with E50, why? I've verified the version in the settings menu and it says "1.01". In the menu the PDAF area is disabled implying that PDAF is not available. I've also set the aperture to f/1.8.
