Excited and a little nervous

After much debate about what camera i wanted to upgrade to, today i hit the "buy" button. I am now very excited and a little nervous whether i made the right decison.

I currently have the canon sx 260, and have owned many bridge cameras, including the sony 100V. I have always known that as my kids got older that i wanted to upgrade, as it would give me something to learn and grow with-to give me something to do so i am depressed as all the kids get older and move out.(my youngest is gradding this year). I definately am not someone who shoots in auto, i do understand different settings, but have lots to learn

I was going to go with the olympus xz 2 as i am a little nervous about changing lens/getting dust on the sensor (lol, no idea if this should be a worry). My dad owns a nikon D700 and i knew i didnt want a camera this big. Today i bought myself the olympus epl 5 after getting what i think is a great deal for the cam and the kit lens ($525 before taxes in canada).

I know that everyone will recommend getting a prime lens, and am wondering what the recommendations are. Also, any other tips or pointers you can offer me would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much
