So you have to jab at the touch screen disturbing the camera (assuming you can get to the touch screen and not using the viewfinder) and then deal with whatever focus speed the camera sees fit, probably with a little jerk at the end as it overshoots to confirm sharpness?

You can do that anyways, and I don't see how focus peaking isn't better, unless you have the sight of an 80 yr old.

No eventually it will all be controlled via an App on your Android or iPhone or Tablet while doing video. You can already do it this way for stills. However, focus pulling isn't really exciting for stills.

You won't have to worry about "Jabbing at the touch screen" or disturbing the camera. However, this won't happen with the GH3 because it can't do video and live view through wifi.

This will all appear in a later model. Probably the GH5(There won't be a GH4 because of the whole death thing). However, they are starting on it now instead of working on getting focus Peaking to work. When they get the AF to work in this manner while filming you won't need or want focus peaking anymore.

Any sort of AF still relies on the camera focusing on what it think I meant to tap, at whatever speed it wants, with the motion it wants.

I'd much rather just use manual focusing and always get what I want. I really don't see why you find this hard to grasp.

Just as when you want maximum control over exposure parameters you use manual modes rather than trust the cameras exposure system, when I want maximum control over focus I'd rather do it manually. Any aid that makes it easier to accomplish I'd be very grateful of.
