Interesting feed back- Thanks. When I had the R1, I got a Pann'y LX-3 that I loved as it stayed with me 24/7, but the high speed IQ was no match for the R1. I was shooting the cameras 50/50. Then I got a Sony 9V, fantastic focusing like a DSLR, 10 frames/sec. etc. but blotchy noise suppression. Still shooting 50/50 vs. the R1. The RX100 seems to have the tools/controls of a DSLR and good enough IQ as I mostly make small format prints. My other concern with any 'camera system' is dust on the sensor. My experience with Canon and Pentax DSLR's I've had is that it is a bitch to get dust off, and more damage can result in that process that makes me leery of investing in exposed sensors. Maybe I am overly cautious about this fear?
