XE1+35mm vs Leica M Monochrom + Lux 50

Number of R pixels in Bayer is 1/4 total (9/36), in XTrans 8/36, or 12.5% difference. Average distance to nearest similar neighbours from an R or B in Bayer (8 nearest neighbours) is 2.41 pixel widths, 2.46 for XTrans (7 nearest neighbours), or 2% worse in XTrans. But of course one less nearest neighbour, so the numerical similarity is misleading c.f. the 12.5% reduction in R or B and corresponding increase in G. Still, 12.5% is not so much.

So mathematically not a lot different, and seems to me not enough to explain any visible difference in sensor performance between Bayer and XTrans.

Of course the Leica Monochrome is a different matter, and in a league of its own as you say !!
