Doesn't look like the GH3 is getting peaking

To be honnest it has no focus peeking, it has an art fioter, only usable as focus peeking in stills (AFAIK) it won't work in movie mode, when you opperate it wrong it will ruin a nice picture (by adding unwanted "art"to your picture...

Well it might be when you want to do it in video and is the GH3 not a lot about video too?

Well when you read well you will see that it is not in the hardare of the processor, and putting it is software it might be not as good as they want it... (or there are otherr reasons, maybe some thing to do with rights owned by an other brand)
