Food photography, C&C please?

In addition to what others have said, I'd say this shot also suffers from poor depth of field.  If you look at food photos by professionals, you'll never see any of the main dish out of focus.  If you can't get there in a single shot, you can stack several images.  If you don't already know about it, google "focus stacking".
