Hey all!

I'm looking for a 70-200mm lens for my Canon t2i. My ideal lens would be the Canon 70-200mm 2.8, but I don't have that much money to put toward a lens and I don't think I'm going to save up for it either. So I'm looking at these lenses... the Canon 70-200 f4, Tamron 70-200 f2.8, and Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (all non-IS).

I'm mostly looking at these lenses for sports and other kinds of "active" things. I'm not a pixel peeper and am not super intense about sharpness. (for example I currently have the Canon 18-135mm and have been plenty happy with it). But I would like a lens that zooms farther than the 135mm and I would like something that's faster than f5.6. What are your opinions on these lenses, those of you that have experience with them? Obviously the Canon's big downside is the f4, but does it make up for that? Is the Tamron's focusing as slow as I've heard? How do these compare?

Thanks!

Tony

Canon 70-200 f/4 is a fantastic lens and I'd highly recommend it as long as you are ok without image stabilization.

Here's some of mine.  Many were taken with 1.4x extender too.
