Sony A77 as a travel carry camera?

Ok, I have the A77 and the NEX 7.  I got the 7 mainly because of size..

on the A77 I have the Tamron set of 17-50 2.8, the 70-200 2.8 and 60 macro 2.0. All are relatively large. I was considering getting the Sony 35mm 1.8 which is smallish and may even take the A77 easier to carry around.. (Not as small as the NEX nut doable?)

i fly 3-4 times a month on business and am curious if anyone here uses the DLSR as their "travel carry" camera and how that works for you..
