I tested the E-M5 for a time and while it´s  not a bad camera there are still some disadvantages compared to a DSLR. I compared with my Canon T4i and while I would give the E-M5 an edge in IQ there are some drawbacks. Continuous AF is weak and even AF-S missed sometimes static objects.

The menu is a mess and the mushy buttons are also unpleasant to use.

IBIS seems to be a nice feature but for some reasons I got some unsharp shots(with steady hands) at shutter speeds where OIS wouldn´t have any problem.

I also disliked the retro-design and the unspectacular viewfinder. Overall it felt too much like a toy for me unlike the T4i.

Video options are mediocre compared to even cheaper cameras. No mic input, only via an adapter that occupies the hot-shoe.

The price tag is too keen for what it offers. Nice try but the competition has better offerings.
