New FF Lens'. What would you like to see as the kit lens? Olympus has a 12-60mm f2.8 it is an excellent lens and was my fav walk around lens. I would choose something in that range.

Personally I don't see any reason to use f2.8 zooms on FF. The advantage of FF is wide and DOF, so why would you not use fast primes to maximize the DOF advantage?

You do still gain quite a bit using f/2.8 zooms. At 24-70 2.8 is about what a 16-50 f/1.8 would be on aps-c, if such a zoom could exist. You basically gain a little over a stop in DOF control with the f/2.8 zooms on FF.

I know, but we have/had f1.8/2 and faster primes now for APS-C, so it doesn't seem like that much of a gain. Spend $2400 on FF body and another $3500 for the FF f2.8 zooms, or spend $2400 on primes for the APS-C body you already have? I'd buy the primes for APS-C.

I know FF would give a stop in better ISO performance, but I'm pretty happy with the K-5 already. Spread the focus points out and have them be the right size on FF, sure, but I'm mostly only use the center point AF now. So where do I get the most gain in going to FF? My answer is fast primes and forget the rest.

The size of a couple FF 2.8 lenses to cover 24-200mm is going to be pretty large. There's no point in talking about a small FF body if you are willing to carry those lenses is it? I'm with Pentax for a reason, well a couple of reasons, and large isn't one. Seriously, if you are willing to give up size and weight, then why not just go with Nikon or Canon and have it now?

I'm sure Pentax will make the FF f2.8 zooms, I'm just pretty sure I won't ever buy them. I'm just hoping for new, FA sized and weight, fast, digital optimized, primes, with a small lighter FF digital body. If Pentax did that, it truly would be special.

Thank you
Russell
