Thanks for the tip, I'll post a dropbox link to the original RAW files tonight.

I recognize that a lot of these areas are underexposed. I suppose in the first picture I was trying to isolate one area with the other area being totally dark, and was surprised at the results. And yes, the issue I have in the water picture is the quality of the water. If underexposuire is simply the issue, I'll keep that in mind.
