What about legacy lenses with FF coverage ?

I'd say more like f/4 - f/5.6 (f/8 - f/11 FF equivalent) would be more ideal. By f/11 (f/22 in terms of FF), diffraction softening is beginning to take a terrible toll, though DOF constraints might make f/8 (f/16 FF equivalent) the number you need.
Would you say it is the same whether you are using a legacy lens or a native MFT lens ? I have tested my lenses with my MFT cameras and the Zeiss Contax G 45mm F2 seems to be at its sharpest at F8. This lens is incredibly sharp at most apertures, including in the corners, but I can see a slight improvement in the corners at F8 over F5.6.
Is difraction only depending upon the sensor size ? Or upon the lenses' properties ? Or upon both ?
Since the Zeiss lens has a wider coverage it seems to retain its FF capacities when it comes to difraction! Right ?
