D300 and screw drive/AF-D

Hi, I used to own a D2H's fantastic camera only sold it because of the lack megapixals i now have a D700 and D300 i use the D300 mostly for sport and have never had any problem with af i still use a older 35-70 2.8d now and again on it and af is quick and snappy so i dont think you should have any problems.
