I think you are confusing words 'convenience' with photography in 'digital photography'.

LCD is not essential for digital photography, only sensor is. LCD can be quite distracting for many photographers. Quite a few of them still preferring to shoot film is not because they cannot live without film (more labs are disappearing each year, each year few emulsions disappear too), but because the philosophy of non-immediacy of results and the simplicity of film cameras allow them to focus on the subject, on premeditation and previsualisation.

It is about having less to experience more. In addition, cameras without an LCD can be sturdier, less fragile, lighter, thinner, more energy efficient.

Simply because you are not one of such photographers, you cannot deny the relevance of their ideas.

How big do you think this niche would be? For the reference, the K-5 II/IIs initial production volume was 20000 units/month.

I mean, a camera which would not offer you any possibility to preview the images, check the histogram, and will only have few, limited custom functions (that's if you accept a secondary monochrome LCD). Even Leica won't even think of not having a back LCD.

The LCD can be disabled, by the way.

Totally worthless idea however. The entire rational that got people away from film was the ability to see your images instantly inside the camera so you could decide on whether to keep them or not. anything that does not do that is as good as dead. The LCD was the single greatest idea that made digital cameras viable.
