Tamron 17-50 2.8 with A55. Really BAD AF speed
Feb 4, 2013

I think the Tamron 17-50 2.8 AF performs even slower than the kit lens 18-55 for A55 in low light.

Sometimes its virtually impossible to auto focus and I have to shift to manual focus. Though the pictures come out very sharp when MF and 2.8 is a pure bliss.

Similarly when indoor, its difficult to AF on playing kids. Now I am still not good enough to MF fast enough to capture running kids, so its a bit of trouble and I have to use high ISO.

Is this just my copy of the lens that is crappy or Tamron 17-50 has a generic AF issue ??

Any way to resolve this ?
