Got em both. Still in the testing process with the 28/1.8G, but there's no doubt it's better in the corners than the 24-70 on the D800E. It (the 28) does have some field curvature and focus shift one needs to be aware of on some (but not all) scenes - but if one is willing to pay attention to that and perhaps do some focus bracketing on complex scenes (scenes with a lot of levels (distance wise) that you need sharp throughout the frame, depth wise), that lens is capable of truly astounding results. It's a keeper. No doubt about that.
