There is no such thing as permanent dust spots. What is it, and how do you know it will not come off? How is the sensor "damaged"?

Hi brightcolours,

I hope you are right, but I once had the stupid idea of cleaning the sensor with toilet paper, and the sensor got REALLY dirty. I then bought a cleaning kit (liquid and swabs + a loupe) and a lenspen.

I got rid of most of the dust, but some spots do not go away no matter how hard I try to clean it, so I assume it is damaged. Hope it is not, but how can I tell? I live with it for 6 months now. Don't even bother to clean the sensor any more...

Thanks for your help.
