Is it impossible to get valuable critique on such a forum?

I disagreed with your comments that "actual dpreview run challanges are not very useful". I had the following photo evaluated and judge by "professionals" and received in a locally community photographic class contest challenge 2nd place of 68 entries and on dpreview challenge 1st place of 175 entries. Now I'm not a professional and I have never made any money with my hobby but I know when an image is good specially when I can compare it to other similar photos

I don't see how the placing in DPREVIEW challenge helps. Well done its a great achivement but I don't see how it helps you know what you got right or what to improove

I've just been marking some practical assessements. They will get a mark that will counts towards a qualification but they are not allowed any feed back.

Last week they did a practice and I could say.

"The problem is that you  lost a mark on the graph as it didn't have any units on it". That helps. Just a score tells them nothing
