Bruce's high key sketch

I don't ever remember posting, but the way I go about hi-key is as follows:

Pick the red channel.  Copy all & paste onto a blank layer above the background layer. Using curves (or levels) lighten the image.  Then use the burn & dodge tools to paint selectively on that layer.  I sometimes lower the opacity slightly to get a bit of the background color.
