Hello,

How are you?

I know the OM-D and GH3 are two very different cameras from the size, controls and features.

The OM-D is regarded as having the best M43 sensor in regard to image quality, namely high iso performance and dynamic range.

Since I haven't read too much info about the GH3 sensor, I was wondering how it performs against the one on the OM-D.

Basically, with the same lens, which camera produces the better photography?

Cheers!

What I would do is buy both cameras and test for yourself and return what you dot no like. It is rare to actually own both cameras. You will get biased answers from each side.

I am a Panasonic users and went from the GF-1 to GX-1 and now GH-3 and liked the GF-1 & GX-1 so I see no reason to switch.

It depends what you are doing. The nice things about the GH-3 is it is easier to use studio strobes because of the built in connection. Not all DSLR's even have this. The GH-3 has a built in flash that is handy, the OMD does not. The GH-3 has standard connections for an external Mic for video needs which is important to me.

I don't think the Olympus or Panasonic are putting out bad cameras at this level, too much to loose.

I also like the current variety of Panasonic lenses and with the announcement of the 42.5 mm 1.2 and depending on cost I would considering selling my GX-1, 45 2.8 & 45-200 to get that lens.

I don't know where you live but that approach would lead only to you owning two cameras if you tried it here in NZ!! They'd be extremely unlikely to accept a return unless it was faulty.
