It's only the old Minolta mount and FD glass that's recently seen an uptick in price, because no SLR mount has been able to use them. All other legacy glass has been skyrocketing in price for a good 4-6 years now. I bought an m42 SMC Takumar 50/1.4 from KEH for $45 in 2008...the same lens in the same condition is listed at $109 now. And I'll bet that in 2005 or so you wouldn't have been able to give those things away. I remember seeing the price of a C/Y lens on KEH go up 25% in the space of a week. And it's getting much harder to find deals in pawn shops and antiques stores, because the number of people who don't realize what the stuff is worth is quickly dwindling.
Price have been steadily rising for sure for MF lens... but it's reaching it's saturation points, with 50 1.8 AF going for 100 bucks, there's no reason for the older 50 1.8 MF to go anywhere near 50 (they are floating around 20-30 now for bad mounts such as MD, AR, FD), the M42 mount have always hold a high price, because anyone under the sun can mount them (except for nikon), so that takumar you're talking about is just experiencing the hike due to more user using DSLR more so than the mirrorless mob grabbing everything in sight.
At the same time, we live off alpha mounts, I own a canon 20D, and trying to find a 1/2 decent lens without selling my liver on that system is nearly impossible. cheapest "decent" lens is the 55-250 IS, and that runs at 130-140 easily, the rest is normally very high price for average quality compare to the alpha system (most of them has no IS if you're buying older lens, new one with IS is 300 minimum)... so MF focus lens for us is less appealing compare to canon/nikon folks.
