a65 a57 sharpness/ noise

Been window shopping alphas and have been looking into the a65. Ran a 'stress j-peg test of both cameras at 800iso. I just cropped equal portions of the image. The a65 had a couple more mbs of the scene which i suppose is 'detail' and not noise.
Equally i sharpened a bit then added 10% saturation and dropped gamma 10% for color depth and noise charachter to show a bit more. Lastly i ran a weak nr on both.
At 800 the a65 definately has more detail and less artifacts. Noise seems pretty close but i honestly think viewing the cup at an 800iso j-peg the a65 is a bit better at noise also.at- 800-(though very subjective. View them both 100% and the detail with the a65 shows, check out the brush.
I personally am not going to get technical above 800iso. For excellent iq i stay as low as possible and do not even bother going over 400 when shooting wildlife. I thought i would share what is useful info to me in making decisions.
And i am still 'on the fence' and will be for a while on a next alpha purchase. Hope this is informative and useful to someone beside me anyway....
a57 on left/ a65 on right
a57 on left/ a65 on right
These are not resampled, just cropped and joined together.
The a65 shows excellent capabilties in capturing detail...the a100 fairs very nicely also
I am not 'picking sides' either. I have been looking into another body. For what i shoot(800iso and under the a65 is by far a better choice. If i go over 800 i use mfnr....or a flash. Thanks for looking and i may get an a57 anyway. I am a 'flip-flopper....brian
thanks 'ir'
