Offsetting cost of this hobby...microstock?

The fly in the ointment has always been Model and Property releases for me.

I take all kinds of pictures of all kinds of places and people in situations where model or property releases are not feasible. The attached image is one such: the woman on the bike is an identifiable person to her or anyone who knows her (probably anyway). However she rode past and I saw her for all of 10 seconds. I have no idea who she is, where she lives or anything else. Additionally the Arc de Triomphe is clearly (to quote Shutterstock) a "famous landmark and/or historic location". From whom do I (or indeed any of the 10,000 people who photograph it daily!) obtain a release?

I have many many nice images which contain unreleased "models" who cannot read or write and to whom the very concept of a release would be bizarre. EG indigenous people in rural India etc. Of what value is a document they cannot read on which they make an X on in any case?

That is one thing about it that has always concerned me.
