I agree that it is helpful in many situations, and I didn't exactly say we should get rid of it. But in many situations it is entirely possible to simply set appropriate compensation. It can be easier to use for tiny birds too, since once you are dialled in you can shoot away without having to nail the bird with the meter each time ...

Just sayin' ...
