New APS-C body... where is it? what's going on?!

Having read Adam's posts on this over the last few years (including shouts of joy about "they listened!" upon getting a what amounted to a form letter in response to a query about full frame, I think the truth here is that there were no particular signs of a new camera announcement, and no one really knew what to expect. (It's not like when the K-7 was announced, when there were clear leaks.)

People were just working themselves up in hopeful anticipation, and reading all sorts of promise into tea leaves, and discussing it over and over in a self-reinforcing loop.

This isn't the first time that's happened, and it won't be the last. I think the best advice is to step away from the tea leaves, chicken bones, and goat entrails, instead of doubling-down and now trying to read meaning into why predictions didn't happen.
