Can a wired remote control video on a 7D?

I've read that the RC-6 will work, but you have to have the drive set to either 2 second or 10 second delay.  This lets the wireless remote act as a start/stop for video.  There's a thread relating to it just a few threads down from this one.  That's what got me started on this trail.
