VE 1005 touching center of LCD on Nikon P7100

The attached photo depicts a touching problem after installing the Vello VE 1005 on a Nikon P7100. The VE 1005 is an acrylic screen protector. The spot in the center of the monitor is the opposite of a bubble (air pocket), but rather the protector is actually contacting the LCD monitor in its approximate center. Has anyone experienced this problem with the VE 1005 or any other non-film screen protector on any camera?
