starting from the rumour site here.

I hope the Panasonic lens has another rendering style more to my taste (judging from just these three samples).

The Voigtländer 25mm also has that glowiness at f0.95. In lower light, it's really not a problem and gives images a distinct look. I like it a lot. Stop down to, say, f1.4 and it's gone. In brighter light you will get more of it.

It's good to have options, but I'll take a Voigtländer lens over a Panasonic lens any day!

That's why it's good having options, no "but" needed Jeff! I like it with less glow, less softness and absolutely with less of those ugly comet-like background OOF highlights. That's why I had the Voigtländer and now instead use the Panasonic 25/1.4 (which also have shortcomings).

That's why I went with the Voigtländer 25mm over the Panasonic 25mm. There's probably a bit of a learning curve shooting wide-open, but it's such a great and flexible lens… 7" minimum focus distance!… and it feels really good, too! Besides, I prefer manual focus most of the time. If I need AF, I have the 20mm.

Whatever one prefers it's exciting getting choices and getting them here and not only in the group of standard zooms....

I couldn't agree more!
