I have compared the 50 Summicron-R to the Olympus 45 1.8. Optically it seems to be a toss-up. In some high-contrast situations the Olympus suffers a bit from purple fringing and the Summicron does not. In other situations the Olympus seems to have a bit more contrast. But considering the weight and size of the Summicron, the amount of wobble in the Metabones adapter, and the lack of autofocus and/or auto-aperture, I have decided not to use the Summicron regularly.
