How to improve (handheld) sweep panorama technique? Always getting jagged horizon with Nex-5

Hi,
No matter how steady I hold the camera and how closely I try to maintain a straight consistent line with the horizon, I seem to get jagged edges on the horizon (where the images are stitched).
It always seems to be when shooting panoramas with a straight horizon (e.g. beach).
Is stitching a panorama with a straight line horizon like this too much for the stitching algorithm, or there something I can do to improve my technique...
A few suggestions I've read in the forums are:
Jagged stitch edges on horizon (handheld Sweep Panorama - Nex-5, 18-55mm)
