OK, I am going to eat a bit of crow for this post...  (I am `experienced` enough to know how to take it)

Want to extend a THANK YOU to the forum members for the support earlier on this thread, the ones providing good info, & the the people (on other threads) that keep on saying the cleaning the sensor is part of life.

I watched all the my D600 (I own a D600 SN 3007xxx pre-order) sensors are all oily/dusty threads.  I have a D7K that is at 35K+ pics and I can never remember one ruined picture.   I may have had one or two landscapes at high f-stop that I did have to clean up a blue sky for a couple mins in LR.   I am normally shooting family portraits or kids sports, etc.   f8-11 or lower stuff.

So with all the D600 chatter, I took a f22 blue sky photo with my D7K, and no surprise the freaking sensor was a mess.  Hit it with a blower and still the same, oops must be D7K oil (more thread info)...

Humm needed to clean things --> (from threads) it looked like Copper Hill was the best choice for cleaning and their kit showed up today.   Nicholas was rock-star on communication too.

Just got done with a cleaning (after a test/practice run on my old D70) and my D7K is now clean as new. Took a total of 40 mins to RTFM and clean.   Next time it will take 10 mins.

I learned how easy it was to clean a sensor and where to get the correct products (on these forums) , THANK YOU all for the knowledge!

BTW - Sheesh my D70's (95K shots 2006-2011) pre-cleaning sensor shot made the D7K look new!   LOL!

To the supporters of this original thread, have a great time everyone and hope your next 10,000 pics are your best ever !!!

To the others, don't let the door hit ya types, thank you too.  Without your entertainment value, it would not be enough to check-in from time to time.  These forums is a slice life & with the whole world participating, very interesting.  I will be lurking for the humor and a bit of knowledge from others!

Mikey

Oh, my D600 (3K shots no issues on pics either), ya it also got a light cleaning tonight, but it was cleaner than the other two...
