The M5 uses older CDS cells, which lose sensitivity. The meter cell is on a "Stalk", a swinging arm. This is more complex than the M6, more subject to mechanical failure. Also: the M5 uses 1.35v Mercury batteries, which are obsolete. It is possible to have the camera adjusted for 1.5volts, you might want to check with the shop if that was done.
Thanks for your feedback- some feel for $899.,being it is getting brassy & has a minor ding to wait and spend a little more for a M6... which i may do ...
