So just saw the extended preview has been posted for the NEX-6 with high ISO test results available:

And I am disappointed. Does anyone else thinks these ISO 3200 shots looks a lot better on the OM-D and NEX-5N then they do on the NEX-6?

I am not - Just go and shoot the OMD and 5N/6 side by side at 3200 (reported) ISO and then decide which camera is a keeper.

Better yet, put both images through PP (RAW or JPG), and be amazed at the difference, the Nex is way ahead of the OMD after PP. If you don't believe me, download the RAW/JPG  and try it out for yourself.

Also, consider the shutter speeds, it takes a much faster lens for OMD to increase the actual shutter speed and match the Nex.

I have to admit though. In this test the OMD to me looks the sharpest and most detailed with NEX-5N a super close second with NEX-6 below both. What gives - Sony...:(

Apples and Oranges.

DxO tested a more 'true ISO' and this puts the OMD almost a stop behind the Nex.

DPreview reports (in images) what the camera does, not the end result. If you only use OOC, then, change the default settings on the Nex, lol.

This topic keeps coming back up. Consider it clever marketing by OMD - overstate the ISO, pre-process the RAW, and everyone is in awe ..... until you actually use it in practice and compare the results.

High ISO on OMD? I don't think so....

JHF points it out correctly: the Nex-6 is a darn good camera, and much better for low-light usage than OMD, with the right lens!

Oh, and there is that nasty thing about shallow DOF, the OMD just doesn't cut it (against the Nex).
