Recently I shot a great concert with my A99.

If it's a sedate concert, sure use manual exposure, but this concert had a great light show and the lights were changing second by second.

I was using my old Sony 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 APS-C lens, which did a surprisingly good job. The wide angle was good for getting crowd shots.

I wouldn't want to be changing lenses at all. If I had your choice of lenses, I'd stick to your 70-200 f/2.8, as long as you're not too close to the stage. Actually you're using the A77, so its crop may make this lens impractical unless you're a decent distance from the stage. As you are hinting you want an excuse the buy some new gear, I'd suggest you buy an A99.

P.S. RAW for sure
