I'm in the same boat, later in the year.
I'm thinking about taking just my NEX-6, the Sony 24mm 1.8 Zeiss and the Sony 50mm 1.8. I don't want to shlep anything bigger and I'm not sure I need anything wider....with those two should I even bother with the kit lens?
Does that sound reasonable?
I'm still trying to decide what to do about a tripod. I have a monopod I may take. I used to travel with my gorillapod, but it doesn't seem to fit well on the NEX-6.

If you have the SEL 16/2.8, preferably with the WAA it would be a great lense to have in tight quarters and also when on a river boat or similar situations when photographing castles or such.
