So just saw the extended preview has been posted for the NEX-6 with high ISO test results available:

And I am disappointed. Does anyone else thinks these ISO 3200 shots looks a lot better on the OM-D and NEX-5N then they do on the NEX-6?

I have to admit though. In this test the OMD to me looks the sharpest and most detailed with NEX-5N a super close second with NEX-6 below both. What gives - Sony...:(

The test comparison is flawed in a few ways, assuming that the same lens is used(which is not), if the focus point is off a tiny bit then some things look sharper in one shot than the other, look at a different spot that is deeper or shallower in the display and the one that looks sharpest can and does change.

And as posted above, ISO values are not equal between the manufactures.

I only use the test comparison generally for color, shadow and noise performance, for sharpness and to nitpick I look else where.

The lenses on the NEX-5N and the NEX-6 are the SAME. I am sorry I even brought OMD into this comparison at this point since I didn't analyze the f.stop setting or shutter on those photos.

So again same lens on the NEXes but you could still be right about the focus being off, very valid argument and can certainly explain the problem.

Sadly, I would expect the dpreview pros to be pro about it in their lab comparisons and equate things properly. But you could very well be right about focus and I am getting worked up for no reason
