Finally found a decent cable lock

I think that's the sensible approach.   Years ago when we looked at options for securing PCs in public areas of the university library where I worked we went for a cheap cabling system because it would deter that unprofessional spur-of-the-moment thief but stopping the determined thief was too costly - the law of diminishing returns kicked in.  No one ever stole any of our computers, although someone once stole all the RAM chips out of one of them.. sigh...
