Regular ISO range, 12800 and 25600 are considered just "digital" amplification.
Actually, if I remember from Marianne Oelund's work, the D7000 is digitally amplified on to of the analogue amplification from ISO 900 up. Most people won't notice the digital amplification at ISO 1600, but even if the output is usable, colours can look plastic-y at ISO 3200. The 'HI' settings are sort of a "you don't really want to use this" warning more than anything else.
