Olympus are "stupid". Why make silver lenses?

Referring to a company in the plural is a common idiom in British English, which I learned from this very site back when Phil Askey was doing all of the reviews. Pick any of them: you'll see "Minolta have", "Fujifilm are" -- etc. (On the other hand you'll also see plenty of comma splices, which I'm pretty sure are not recommended even across the pond.)
