Had my V1 for a few weeks now due entirely to the huge price drop. I'd read reviews for and against and been intrigued by the phase detect auto focus in a camera this size, but it was originally way too expensive for what it is.

I'd intended to get the Richard Franiec V1 Grip but actually find the V1 a lot easier to hold than I'd expected, so I've put off getting one (at least for now). The V1 is already a bit larger than I'd ideally like, so I won't be adding one of the tripod connector attached grips.

I have the Giotto screen protector as I've found these to be less reflective than the GGS versions. Of course they're also ridiculously expensive, but I got mine from Santa for Xmas :-):

One tip I came across for putting these protectors on is to take a photo of a light coloured wall (or similar) and display that on the LCD as you install the LCD protector. Helps a lot in lining them up accurately.

I like to have a protective filter on my lenses so I got one for each of the lenses I have (10-30 and 30-110). The lens filter threads are both the same size (40.5 mm) but switching one filter back and forth is a pain.

I got an 8Gb SDHC card. It seems ridiculously large, but with the high speed multi-shot and video capabilities of the V1, I figured I might use the space.

I find lens hoods really help when shooting towards bright light sources (like the sun), so I got the lens hood for the 10-30 (the 30-110 came with one).

I'm finding I very seldom use the neck strap, even though I have it attached. It mostly just gets in the way, so I'm going to get a small wrist strap as soon as I get around to it. I've been thinking about the various belt clips but haven't seen one that really sold me. There's a neat one from someone in Finland I think it is, but it's around $180, which is unbelievable. Of course he designed it to use with his Leica M and I guess if you can afford one of those, $180 isn't that much.

I haven't found the perfect bag yet and am currently using an old Tamrac bag I already had. The main compartment's actually a perfect fit for the V1 with either the 10-30 or 30-110 attached, plus the other lens (whichever one isn't on the camera). I have the hoods on both lenses, reversed for fitting in the bag. The only issue I have with this bag is it has a large additional front pocket that makes it thicker than I'd really like. I've even thought of cutting the front pocket off, but I think it would look pretty tacky, although maybe that would be a good theft deterrent.

I got a spare battery but think i could probably have got along without it. I've been shooting mostly with the EVF, with the LCD turned off, occasionally turning it on for quick reviews of what I'm shooting, and the battery lasts a long time. I'm not sure exactly how long, but I've shot 476 shots since the last time I charged it and the battery still has some life left.

I'm torn on the flash. The SB-N5 seems a bit weak and the SB-N7 a bit large and it doesn't swivel. I'll maybe get the SB-N5 eventually.

I've thought about David Busch's Nikon V1 Guide but the V1 doesn't seem complicated enough to need it.

Thought about the lens adapter as I have Nikon lenses, but i can't really see me using them with the V1. Doubt if I'll get this.

I'll definitely be tempted by the 32mm f/1.2prime portrait lens and the projector accessory (how cool would that be if and when they become available. I'm just not sure how much money I want to put into the Nikon 1 system.
