Perhaps I should phrase it differently; obviously the corners aren't up to the center, but with the 28/1.8 I found they were closer (to the center) than I ever expected, and there wasn't any noticeable "dip" or change in the progression from center to edge that would indicate an obvious donut hole, at least at this distance/aperture. There wasn't any un-eveness to the gradual drop off - it looked very natural. A donut type scenario would indicate more of a "gap" as opposed to a continued controlled rolloff. Looking at the photozone numbers, which of course are done in closer distances, there seems to be a donut hole around that F/5.6 area, which I didn't test. The photozone numbers seem to indicate this goes away as you get near F/8 too. So I'm guessing if I were to run some closer distance tests at F/5 or something, I might see it. F/7.1 and infinity focus, I do not. Wish me some good weather and I'll test more and we can continue this discussion then. I'm so sick of gray skies and snow or rain it ain't funny
