WIDE/FAST/CHEAP - What are my options for Nex video?

My NEX works quite nicely for video in AF-S mode with face detection turned on.  The focus is very slow and doesn't hunt at all even in low light.  I don't ever touch the shutter button, it just smoothly moves focus to a face when one is detected. I switch to MF when needed
