Yeah, that´s exactly like setting a wrong aperture won´t give you the DOF you wanted, or setting a wrong shutter speed will not match what you had in mind. You can always correct later of course, but I tend to think we´re not only snapping static subjects, do we?

It´s a matter of semantics really, the camera calls it manual for easy reference, I do not, knowing my parameters. In so called ´Manual´, one of the parameters can be AutoISO. You don´t need to use it, but you can: it then makes sense to be able to influence it. Not seeing the need for it is your privilege, I´m not forcing you to use it if it were there, it´s something you can use or not. However, arguing and trying to deny something useful to others just because you want to stick to the past is quite rude IMO.
