Don't you think it highly unlikely that this will ever happen? Fuji obviously know that users and reviewers have asked for this, they have made many firmware upgrades, but no sign of this at all. There must be a technical reason for them not doing it.

In manual the photographer has control of ISO, shutter-speed and aperture—that is why it is called "manual". There is no other factor left to control with the EC knob. If the image is underexposed for example, the photographer can increase the aperture, slow down the shutter speed or increase the ISO if needed. It is about manual control. No camera manufacturer has yet to discover a mystical fairy-dust that will be a fourth factor in the exposure triangle, no matter how blissfully the uninformed desire it.
Auto ISO only provides the sensitivity that the other two variables demand in relation to the ambient light as perceived by the sensor. If it provides the wrong amount of compensation, it is up to the photographer's intelligence to go to full manual and set the sensitivity to provide for perfect exposure, or to go to another mode like aperture priority and use the EC knob.

Larry I have no argument with you there, I grew up with a totally manual film camera. No light meter, no rangefinder, scale focussing etc.

My wish is only for a programmable minimum shutter speed with auto ISO, as other Fuji X cameras have had (X100). My point is that this is unlikely now, as Fuji would surely have done it already if they could.

Best bet is that it will be in the next release of the X-Pro range, not in this X-Pro 1 model ever.
