Read the interview with Canon. FF is the future of the semi-pro market. DX is on the way out. So I think even if a D400 is released, it will be a dead end. And it seems like Canon is in no hurry either to release a semi-pro DSLR.

It confirms what seemed obvious to several of us from the logic of the latest Nikon and Canon product releases - that the price limit for APS-C/DX is well south of $1500, and that all the development in 'pro' lenses (L and Gold Ring) is in the FF sector. Obviously, there must be something in the DX range above the D5200. I'd very much doubt that it will be what the diehards would call a 'D400', but you never know, necessity is the mother of invention. Many of the Olympus faithful convinced themselves that the E-M5 was the new 'pro' Olympus, even though they had been adamant before that no mFT camera could be 'pro'.
