SX220HS battery performance

In all fairness, I very much doubt that canon design cameras to use smaller batteries to make you buy more, they are as aware of 3rd party batts as much as anyone else and stores worldwide would rather sell you a 3rd party one as they make FAR more money on them, I`ve never seen a shop push genuine maker accessories on anyone, too little profit ..

The SX210/220/260 etc use the tiny NB5L because it keeps the camera slimmer and everyone was battling for the smallest pocket megazoom - the awful Fuji F70 used a battery of half the capacity, whats more the big X10 takes it too  !!

The Upshot is that the NB5L which the SX takes has been around for about 7 years so there are hundreds of alternatives
