I 100% agree with you.  That is why I wish Olympus would make these changes.  I mean how many threads are there here DPR where people are looking for backend ways of getting these features.  I use the magnification (FNC) technique to get better focus of people that are too far away for the AF to work well.  However, this introduces other issues, liking missing the moment, not catching someone or something stepping into the scene and losing my original composition.
